Be a Movie Star for YOUR Center!

"We are the music-makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams,
We are the movers and shakers of the world forever, it seems."
― Arthur O'Shaughnessy's Ode

Dear Friends,

Well, 2020 has been quite a year! From a global pandemic to equal rights demonstrations around the world to an inland hurricane in our own backyard, we've all needed to test our innovation skills and tap into our resilience as we ride these unpredictable waves of change.

When the world is changed, the strong change with it.My takeaway from the year so far? The words of Nobel Prize Winner Dennis Gabor stand out: "We cannot predict the future, but we can invent it."

I and my staff here at your Fairfield Arts and Convention Center remain committed to innovation, inclusion, and "crazy ideas that just might work." Because at this point in our global history, we simply cannot afford to do otherwise.

That's why I'm so excited to bring you onboard the new future we're inventing here at the Center.

While we wait for the tide of audience to be ready to come back into the theaters in larger numbers for live performances, we are by no means idle. We have a slew of out-of-the-box, vital, and sustainable plans for outdoor events, indoor socially distanced partnerships with local businesses, small gatherings, virtual educational content, and more to continue to remain useful in service to our community.

But first, I am delighted to announce that Fairfield Flix at the FACC, your brand new movie theater, will soon be a wonderful, positive reality.

For small towns the movie-going experience is an important gathering place for shared experiences for residents of all ages, as well as a driver of any downtown's atmosphere, action and local retail economy. And while the data shows that roughly two-thirds of arts and entertainment patrons are ready to come back to venues in total groups of less than 100, movies are a great way for us to continue to serve that need while remaining nimble and budget healthy. With safety as a priority, your Center will add an affordable entertainment option to enjoy with friends and family.

But we can do none of this without your involvement.

This is perhaps one of the most crucial times for arts and culture organizations that we have yet faced in our lifetimes. I'll say it again: when the world is changed, the strong change with it.

Your community needs and depends on your sponsorship and support more than ever before, and with that in mind,we are redesigning our sponsorship program this year. In honor of our upcoming cinema opening, I am asking you to become a "star" in a dark sky and light the way for the people of Jefferson County. Your sponsorship will be attached to every single event we present for the rest of the 2020/21 season. You and your business will receive exposure like never before from your Center, in addition to having an unprecedented influence on the local culture and economy.

"We cannot predict the future, but we can invent it." Together,we are not only reimagining the future of performing arts and cultural events. With you alongside us, we have the chance to CREATE that future. What we do now will have ripple effects far beyond this time and this town.

We ARE the music makers, and the dreamers of dreams, and yes—we will be the movers and shakers of the world forever.

Shape the future. Become a2020/21Sponsor of Fairfield Arts & Convention Center.

With great hope and great love,
