The Fairfield Arts and Convention Center is loaded with experiences you might not expect. Need a new late-night scene? Check out the free, eclectic mix of performances featured at the new Limelight Lounge.  The Limelight Lounge will present great music and specialty drinks, including the Limelight Martini. The Fairfield Arts and Convention Center meeting rooms will be transformed into a club atmosphere.

The Limelight Lounge launches Friday, March 2, 7:30 - 11 p.m. with New York City jazz pianist, Keelan Dimick.  Keelan has performed at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles, the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, the Gene Harris Jazz Festival, and the Heritage Jazz Festival in Los Angeles. Keelan was three time winner of the Lionel Hampton jazz competition.  Admission to the Limelight Lounge is free and does not require a ticket for admission.

A wide variety of jazz and pop favorites will be played on the magnificent Sondheim grand piano. Enjoy the music in a lounge atmosphere with seating available near the piano or nearby tables, all while sipping the lime-green Limelight Martini and other specialty drinks. . Songs will include Dancing in the Moonlight (Van Morrison), 'Round Midnight (Thelonius Monk), My Shining Hour (Harold Arlen), Embraceable You and Summertime (George Gershwin), Sad Lisa (Cat Stevens), A Song for You (Leon Russell), Bring It On Home (Sam Cook), Woman's Work (Kate Bush/Maxwell), Some Day My Prince Will Come (Snow White), Anthropology (Charlie Parker), Levon (Elton John) and many more, including audience requests.

Joining Dimick at the Limelight Lounge will be Karen Aoki, a top graduate of the Eastman School of Music.  Karen's recent recordings with Rob Steinberg have been a hit on YouTube.  Also joining the musicians will be vocalist Dr. Derek Anderson, Director of the Emergency Department at the Jefferson County Health Center.  Derek grew up in Bettendorf, Iowa and recently moved to Fairfield.  He has been a featured vocal performer in Iowa City as well as in college at the University of Iowa in a wide variety of musical genres.
