In its sophomore season, Iowa Stage Theatre Company is taking big strides to provide more Iowans with the opportunity to see professional local productions in their own area. After an award-winning debut season, Iowa Stage is proud to bring its first touring show It's A Wonderful Life: The Radio Play by Joe Landry to Fairfield Arts and Convention Center's Stephen Sondheim Theater!

This beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. An ensemble of five actors, with the help live sound effects, brings a few dozen characters to life on the stage, sharing the story of idealistic George Bailey as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve.

It's A Wonderful Life features a diverse cast of Des Moines area guest artists including Don Rottweiler, Abdul Mokhtar, Emily Solo, Jennifer Hughes (The Christians) and Resident Artist Company Member John Earl Robinson (Company.) The show is being directed by Drake's Associate Professor of Theatre and Head of the BFA Acting Program, John Michael Graham.

Iowa Stage Theatre Company, based out of Des Moines, Iowa is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization created in 2017 from the collaboration of two of the area's longest running and award winning theater companies. (Repertory Theater of Iowa and StageWest.) They maintain an Artist Resident Company of actors, directors and technicians that contribute greatly to the success of the theatre.
