Fairfield 1st Fridays Art Walk February Film Festival is just around the corner! The focus of the Film Festival this year is on Iowan Shorts. Of the six venues screening shorts in Fairfield during Art Walk night, four of them will screen films made by Iowan film makers. Following this theme of recognizing our native talent, there will be a hands-on Film & TV Auditioning Workshop on Saturday February 4th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Sondheim.

Scott Siepker will kick off this workshop by discussing his experiences as an Iowan actor, producer, director and overnight sensation in the "Iowa Nice" short which went viral within 24 hours of posting online. "Iowa Nice" was such a success, Scott has been interviewed by the Huffington Post, CNN, Des Moines Register during the Iowa Caucuses, and the BBC World News. Scott will also discuss his current projects Valentine Road, and Marooned. Scott Siepker is an adjunct professor of theater at Drake University, host of "Iowa Outdoors" on IPTV and is currently living in Des Moines.

Next, workshop attendees will learn successful skills for Film & TV auditioning by national recognized Casting Director/ Producer and Acting Coach, Kimberly Busbee.  
 
Kimberly will guide students through the details on how to make strong and successful audition choices including: industry guidelines for marketable headshots, resumes, quick script breakdown techniques, on camera cold readings with critique and instruction, auditioning tips, handout, and a Q & A.

Kimberly has successfully coached students for Los Angeles film auditions, college auditions, and for the IMTA and THE competitions. Kimberly is a working casting director/ acting coach/ producer/ filmmaker and owner of AriesWorks Entertainment. She offers professional acting classes and private coaching in auditioning for stage, screen and musical theatre.   

In Iowa, she cast, produced and/or co-directed 6 award-winning films and co-founded the Vaudeville Mews. She cast the award-winning feature, ASH and did Iowa casting for 2 other international SAG films; The Crazies and Dead Awake.

Kimberly is currently working on the TV reality/doc pilot, Opened Doors, consulting for the international film fund, The Haven Group, and is Co-Director of Project Cornlight, an Iowa film initiative founded by Iowa native and Hollywood star, Tanna Frederick.  Kimberly is also preparing to cast and co-produce first Project Cornlight Film, The Farm.
