J. S. Bach wrote some of the most beautiful music ever written. Still continuing to inspire and uplift us 300 years later, his music has an amazingly modern flair. And did you know that Bach was one of the first "jazz" musicians, since many of his pieces were improvisational?
Gifted Danish pianist and composer Werner Elmker continues this improvisational tradition in a special Birthday Bash performance for J.S. Bach on Tuesday, March 21, 7:30 p.m. at the Sondheim Center. This concert will draw upon Bach's classical repertoire and other composers inspired by Bach, plus feature Elmker "going for Baroque" with a Bach-based improvisational flair. The grand Barhydt organ will also be fired-up for the performance, which is a special opportunity to celebrate the Master's 332nd birthday and experience Bach's music with fresh new ears!
